Surface Underway Marine Database Portal

The NCEI Surface Underway Marine Database (SUMD) provides a comprehensive set of uniformly, quality-controlled in situ sea surface measurements from thermosalinographs, meteorological sensors and others from 1980 to the present. Data are a collection from more than 450 ships and unmanned surface vehicles. Data are stored in the NCEI NetCDF format with the trajectory feature type. This data access portal allows you to search the SUMD by data parameter, data source, observation date and spatial range.
