Applications of the Data

These data provide comprehensive carbonate data for the North Pacific Ocean. These data may be used to quantify the penetration of excess CO₂ in the North Pacific Ocean and have been used to calculate total CO₂ and partial pressure CO₂ estimates. These data also serve as a useful comparison to other data from the North Pacific Ocean, such as the GEOSECS data from 1973-1974, the INDOPAC data of 1976, and the BENTHIC 8 data of 1983.
