National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa, India is proud to
commission and dedicate INOIS to the oceanographic community in Indian
Ocean region. Indian National Oceanographic Internet Server (INOIS) is
an important milestone in Indian Oceanography.
National Information Systems for Science & Technology (NISSAT)
of the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR) has
funded this ambitious project. Funded under its Sectoral Information
Centre (SIC), programme INOIS has received a total grant of Rs.31.40
lakhs from NISSAT during the financial year 1996-97.
