The Data Provider ("You") cannot submit a package without providing your first name, last name, phone number, and institution.
You can enter start/end dates before the Common Era (BCE) as well as standard dates for data collection start/end dates in 'Dates & Locations' tab.
When you log in, Send2NCEI will take you to the page where you had been when you were last logged in.
The last edit date of each package is shown in the 'Status' column of the 'Submissions I am working on' table on the 'My Submission Packages' page.
You can make a copy of existing metadata for Archived Submission Packages and Rejected Submission Packages from the 'My Submission Packages' page.
Whenever necessary, a maintenance notice will be displayed on every page prior to a planned Send2NCEI shutdown or other system update.
You will be able to select/change an institution from the autocomplete list on ‘Edit Profile’ page.
Improved functionality for uploading file(s). NCEI recommends creating a single 'zip' or 'tar' file to upload, if you have multiple files to send.
You can enter '0' as a valid longitude or latitude value for the prime meridian or the equator.
Internal configuration and process updates
An improved internal summary page (html and xml views) shows statistical information for Submission Information Packages (SIPs), including assignment dates for each step and elapsed times taken between each ingest process step.
An improved review/approval/reject process supports NCEI data stewards new SIP rejection requests and approvals.
A new function was added to accept a SIP without creating a new archival information package.
Enhanced automated functions now ensure up-to-date Data Officer of the Week (DOW), POC, DO, and DCM lists and standard text files are managed automatically.
Minor program bugs were fixed to add HTML character codes to the Help Desk Ticket (HDT), prevent recording bogus project IDs in the database, and properly set user attributes in the HDT for a rejected SIP.
