PACKAGE DESCRIPTION: This dataset includes profile discrete measurements of dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, pH on total scale, temperature, salinity, oxygen and CFCs obtained during R/V Oden Lomonosov Ridge off Greenland (LOMROG) expedition (EXPOCODE 77DN20070812) in the Arctic Ocean from 2007-08-12 to 2007-09-19. The R/V Oden expedition is the oceanographic component of LOMROG focuses on constraining and understanding the pathways of the Atlantic water and deep water across the Lomonosov Ridge between the Eurasian Basin and Canadian Basin and through the western Fram Strait.

VARIABLES / PARAMETERS:

Dissolved Inorganic Carbon
Abbreviation: TCARBN
Unit: UMOL/KG
Observation type: Discrete, bottle
Measured or calculated: Measured
Sampling instrument: coulometric titration method
Analyzing instrument: SOMMA
Detailed sampling and analyzing information: Total dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) was determined by a coulometric titration method having a precision of ~1 µmol kg-1, with the accuracy set by calibration against certified reference materials (CRM), supplied by A. Dickson, Scripps Institution of Oceanography (USA)
Preservation method: mercuric chloride solution
Preservative volume: 100 mL
Uncertainty: precision was better than 2 micromol kg-1
Quality flag convention: WOCE quality control flags are used: 2 = good value, 3 = questionable value, 4 = bad value
Researcher name: Leif Anderson
Researcher institution: University of Gothenburg
Total alkalinity
Abbreviation: ALKALI
Unit: UMOL/KG
Observation type: Discrete, bottle
Measured or calculated: Measured
Type of titration: potentiometric titration
Cell type (open or closed): open
Detailed sampling and analyzing information: Total alkalinity (ALKALI) was determined by potentiometric titration, precision ~1 µmol kg-1, with the accuracy set the same way as for DIC.
Quality flag convention: WOCE quality control flags are used: 2 = good value, 3 = questionable value, 4 = bad value

Researcher institution: University of Gothenburg
pH
Abbreviation: PH_TOT
pH scale: Total Scale
Observation type: Discrete, bottle
Measured or calculated: Measured
Sampling instrument: Niskin Bottles
Detailed sampling and analyzing information: The determination of pH was performed by the use of a diode-array spectrophotometer using a sulphonephtalein dye, m-cresol purple, as indicator and measured in a 1 cm flowcell thermostated to 15 C (pH15). The precision and accuracy for the pH15 measurements were +/- 0.0005 and +/- 0.002 pH units, respectively.
