PACKAGE DESCRIPTION: This dataset includes discrete profile measurements of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity, pH on seawater scale, partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO2), dissolved organic carbon (DOC), chlorofluorocarbons (CFC-11, CFC-12), temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), delta C13 and delta C14 obtained during NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown cruise CLIVAR_A16N_2013 (EXPOCODE 33RO20130803) in the Atlantic Ocean from 2013-08-03 to 2013-10-01. The International CLIVAR Global Ocean Carbon and Repeat Hydrography Program carries out a systematic and global re-occupation of select WOCE/JGOFS hydrographic sections to quantify changes in storage and transport of heat, fresh water, carbon dioxide (CO2), and related parameters.

Observation type: discrete
In-situ / Manipulation / Response variable: In-situ observation
Measured or calculated: Measured
Replicate information: 1-3 replicates were drawn per station (usually 3) from the surface, bottom and ~ 1000 m depths. Average difference of replicates was 1.49 μmol/kg for AOML3 and 1.69 μmol/kg for AOML 4.
Standardization description: Injection of 2 pairs of sample loops of known volume of pure CO2 bracketing the expected values of TCO2 and analysis of Certified Reference Materials supplied by Dr. A Dickson of SIO. TCO2 values were corrected for the addition of mercuric chloride and for the offset from the CRM value.

Storage method: The 0.5 L "DIC" sample bottles were sealed with glass stoppers lightly covered with Apiezon-L grease and were stored at room temperature for a maximum of twelve hours prior to analysis. All samples were kept in a secondary bath at 20 ˚C (+/- 0.3 ˚C) for at least 2 hours prior to analysis. For analysis they were moved to the primary bath at 20 ˚C (+/- 0.03 ˚C).
Seawater volume: 200 mL
Headspace volume: 5 mL
Temperature of measurement: 20 ˚C
Detailed sampling and analyzing information: Circulation of dried headspace sample gas through a non-dispersive infrared analyzer (Licor model 840). The system is a prototype built by Tim Newberger (NOAA/ESRL/CIRES) and supported by C. Sweeney and T. Takahashi. For further details see the cruise report at http://cchdo.ucsd.edu/cruise/33RO20130803
Sample replicate information: Replicate samples were drawn from 52 Niskin bottles.
Temperature correction method: 4.23%/˚C
Uncertainty: Accuracy estimated at 1% based on the uncertainty of the standards. Precision was 0.18% based on the analysis of 52 pairs of replicate samples.
