Partial pressure (or fugacity) of carbon dioxide, salinity and other variables collected from underway - surface observations using Carbon dioxide (CO2) gas analyzer, Shower head chamber equilibrator for autonomous carbon dioxide (CO2) measurement and other instruments from the KNORR in the Andaman Sea or Burma Sea, Arabian Sea and others from 1994-12-01 to 1996-01-21 (NCEI Accession 0115589)
PACKAGE DESCRIPTION: This dataset includes chemical, meteorological, physical and underway - surface data collected from KNORR in the Andaman Sea or Burma Sea, Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, Gulf of Aden, Gulf of Oman, Indian Ocean, Laccadive Sea, Mozambique Channel and Persian Gulf (Gulf of Iran) from 1994-12-01 to 1996-01-21 and retrieved during cruise 316N145_10, 316N145_12, 316N145_13, 316N145_14, 316N145_5, 316N145_6, 316N145_7, 316N145_8 and 316N145_9. These data include BAROMETRIC PRESSURE, CARBON DIOXIDE - AIR, Partial pressure (or fugacity) of carbon dioxide, SALINITY and SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURE. The instruments used to collect these data include Carbon dioxide (CO2) gas analyzer and Shower head chamber equilibrator for autonomous carbon dioxide (CO2) measurement. These data were collected by Robert M. Key of Princeton University; Department of Geosciences; Program in Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences and Christopher Sabine of US DOC; NOAA; OAR; Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory as part of the WOCE I01, WOCE I02, WOCE I03, WOCE I04, WOCE I05E, WOCE I05W, WOCE I07N, WOCE I08N, WOCE I09N, WOCE I09S, WOCE I10 and WOCE_I8S data set. The World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) was a major component of the World Climate Research Program with the overall goal of better understanding the ocean's role in climate and climatic changes resulting from both natural and anthropogenic causes. The CO2 survey took advantage of the sampling opportunities provided by the WOCE Hydrographic Program (WHP) cruises during this period between 1990 and 1998. The final collection covers approximately 23,000 stations from 94 WOCE cruises.
