PACKAGE DESCRIPTION: This dataset includes discrete sample and profile data collected from POLARSTERN in the South Atlantic Ocean and Southern Oceans (> 60 degrees South) from 2005-01-22 to 2005-04-06. These data include Barium, DISSOLVED INORGANIC CARBON (DIC), DISSOLVED OXYGEN, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, NITRATE, NITRITE, Potential temperature (theta), SALINITY, WATER TEMPERATURE, phosphate and silicate. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD, Coulometer for DIC measurement and bottle. These data were collected by M. Hoppema and E Fahrbach of Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research as part of the CLIVAR_A12_ANT_XXII/3 data set. CDIAC associated the following cruise ID(s) with this data set: ANT_XXII/3 The International CLIVAR Global Ocean Carbon and Repeat Hydrography Program carries out a systematic and global re-occupation of select WOCE/JGOFS hydrographic sections to quantify changes in storage and transport of heat, fresh water, carbon dioxide (CO2), and related parameters.
