GTSPP CMD Data Holdings and Streams

The GTSPP CMD includes over 50 different variables, although only temperature and salinity are currently quality controlled with NODC’s GTSPP QC editor.  GTSPP, including the QC editor, is flexible enough to be expanded and handle additional profile parameters.  This was, in fact, an early vision of GTSPP.

Data Streams Type Data Processing (Organization/Program) Data Providers Description (including platform)
Real-time (RT), low resolution profile data Integrated Scientific Data Management (ISDM), Canada Data circulated on the GTS as BATHY and TESAC messages, (Argo PFloats, Oceansites and Gliders, SOOP XBT Networks including participants from  Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Japan, USA, and Mediterranean Forecast System (MFS), Moored buoys for PIRATA, TOGA TAO, TRITON, MARNET and, GoMOOS buoys, Ice Tethered buoys, Drifting buoys, and Marine Animals, Pinniped)
Real-time (RT) archive, full resolution profile the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML)/NOAA SEAS program AOML generates 2 meter resolution XBT (BATHY Message) for the GTS and transfers a full resolution XBT in the SEAS 2000 format (referred to as the RT archive message) to NODC for archival purpose.
Delayed mode, full resolution profile data 1) ISDM of Canada;
2) French National Oceanographic Data Center ((Systèmes d'Informations Scientifiques pour la Mer (SISMER) of France);
AOML, and SIO
Full resolution XBT and CTD  profiles for the corresponding real-time, low resolution BATHY and TESAC data that circulated on the GTS.
Historical (non GTS) delayed, full resolution profile data ISDM of Canada;
SISMER of France
AODC, BOM, and CSIRO of Australia
National Institute of Ooceanography (NIO) of India
AOML, SIO
Data never circulated on the GTS.
