Yes, I think the suggested title is sufficient. I had originally placed the two data sets (Field experiment and Laboratory Manipulation) on two different sheets in Excel, forgetting that CSV files cannot handle separate sheets. Sorry for the oversite. Attached is a new CSV where all the data is in one place. Please let me know if there is a better way to format the data for clarity. Thanks so much for your help with this. I hope you have a Happy Holidays. Just bumping this to the top of your inbox if you have time to answer before the holidays. cheers, Courtney -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- from: Courtney Bouchard - NOAA Federal to: tledford@crimson.ua.edu date: Dec 6, 2024, 2:29 PM subject: Send2NCEI Submission K6ED3F Hello Taylor, Thank you for submitting your valuable data to NCEI to archive titled, "Saltmarsh vegetation zone determines microbial nitrate reduction responses to elevated nitrate and organic matter inputs in Northern Gulf of Mexico marsh from may 2021 to may 2022". Apologies for the delay but we've had a backlog of submissions and I was only able to get to this recently. As I'm going through the appraisal process I had a few questions I'm hoping you can clarify for me. 1. Typically we use titles more related to the data than the scientific study and outcomes. I would suggest the title be changed to something like "Sediment and porewater nitrification and organic matter data in a Northern Gulf of Mexico marsh from 2021-05-26 to 2022-05-21". Please let me know if that title is sufficient or if you'd like to tweak it a bit to capture the data better. 2. The abstract does a great job of describing the data, but I was having a hard time connecting some of the data described with the data available in your .csv file. Can you explain to me where the data is from the laboratory manipulation and four treatments in this spreadsheet? It also seems like the overlying water samples may be missing. If you don’t want to include that information we can remove it from the abstract. Apologies if this is just a knowledge gap of the procedure on my end though. Thank you again for submitting your data. Once we get some clarity on those two things we can move ahead with the archiving process. cheers, Courtney
