BPI is a dataset developed by a joint effort between NCEI and NMFS Sea Turtle Stranding and Salvage Network. The BPI is created at NCEI. Actions: NCEI personnel copied the data from the BPI project folder /nodc/projects/seaturtle/SPAT/results to the 0-data/ directory. This BPI dataset was created by NCEI personnel using data all archived at NCEI. The BPI applies velocity and direction of surface currents and wind from the American Seas Ocean Model (AMSEAS) of the Regional Navy Coastal Ocean Model (NCOM) to predict and describe the probability that floating turtles will be brought into shore. Files: about/ This directory contains files generated by NCEI with ancillary information about the data submission. 0273519_preview.jpg - Preview graphic for this dataset, one of the GOM plot data files. data/0-data/ This directory contains the data files created at NCEI.
