Emails between NCEI and data provider about data and metadata updates. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Soren Gutekunst Date: Wed, Jan 20, 2021 at 2:56 AM Subject: Re: NCEI acceptance confirmation for Reference ID: MYLE9Y To: Zhankun Wang - NOAA Affiliate Cc: Mairéad O'Donovan Dear Zhankun, Please find attached a revised version. It now includes the the pH and I reorganised the columns for further ease. Thank you. I will make the changes to the title, abstract and boundary as we agreed.  Please export pH and send me new files if you can. After reviewing your data, I have several questions/requests. (1) Can the title be changed to "Sea surface salinity, partial pressure of carbon dioxide - water, and temperature from platform IMMOCA 60 11th hour racing / 1 degree as part of The Ocean Race - Racing with Purpose project in the North Atlantic Ocean from 2020-08-01 to 2020-11-05 (NCEI Accession 0224417)" ? Yes, with two space bars between ..racing / 1 degree.. as I think it is easier to find, when people search for it with search engines. (2) Can we modify the beginning of the abstract as "This NCEI accession consists of surface underway measurements of Partial pressure (or fugacity) of carbon dioxide (pCO2) in water , sea surface temperature, salinity collected by IMOCA 60 11th hour racing/1 degree in 2020 as part of The Ocean Race - Racing with Purpose project. For oceanographic observations, the 6th generation OceanPack by SubCtech is used to measure fCO2(pCO2,xCO2), sea surface salinity and sea surface temperature. The sampled water was pumped..."? Yes, with the addition of “IMOCA 60 11th hour racing / 1 degree" in it. (3) I do not see pH in the data file. Can pH be removed from the DataTypes list?  Damn, I did not export it.Should I include the derived pH values and send a new file or do you prefer the measurements only without derived variables and we keep it as it is? (4) You put "-6" as the east boundary, but the actual east boundary is "-4" when I look at the longitude. Can the east boundary be changed to -4?  Sure thing! Sorry my fault. These are just some suggestions. Please let me know your thoughts, so I can move forward with your data archive. Thanks! NCEI received these data, The Ocean Race - Racing with Purpose with IMMOCA 60 11th hour racing/1 degree. SALINITY - SURFACE WATER, partial pressure of carbon dioxide - water, and WATER TEMPERATURE in North Atlantic Ocean from 2020-08-01 to 2020-08-14 & 2020-10-27 to 2020-11-05, on 2021-01-11 10:32:33 via S2N. After reviewing your submission package (metadata and data), I assigned your submission an NCEI Accession Number 0224417. This number is a tracking identifier for the NCEI Ocean Archive. Please reference this number when corresponding with NCEI about these data. You can find information about these archived data at https://accession.nodc.noaa.gov/0224417. After further reviewing your data, creating any additional representations of these data in a format that is more preservable in the NCEI Ocean Archive, and developing necessary tracking metadata, NCEI will publish these archived data online. You may access the archival copy of your original data via the link listed above. In addition to creating an archival copy of these data, NCEI may include all or part of your data into one or more product databases, such as the World Ocean Database.
