This directory contains the data files as acquired by NCEI.   NCEI serves as
the Global Data Assembly Center for IQuOD. Files were produced internally.

In addition information file IQuOD_v0.1_information.pdf was provided
by the IQuOD steering group.

Data are separated into directories by year 
All data sets will have a single ragged array file in each
yearly directory if there are new/updated data for that year.  The data sets are:

XBT - expendable bathythermographs
CTD - high resolution conductivity temperature depth (CTD) sensors and
      expendable conductivity temperature depth (XCTD) censors
OSD - bottle data/low resolution CTD - XCTD/plankton
PFL - profiling floats
DRB - drifting buoys
MRB - moored buoys
UOR - undulating oceanographic recorders
APB - pinniped mounted instrument
GLD - gliders

Note that some casts occur in freshwater bodies such as the Laurentine
Great Lakes.  Further, there are some casts with incorrect latitudes
and longitudes that appear on land.  These casts are maintained in
IQuOD in the hope that information will be
provided at some point which will allow for the correction of
erroneous latitudes/longitudes.
