***************************************************************** Journal for accession number: 9400121 Created on: 2020-12-30 18:17:43 UTC By: National Centers for Environmental Information Source: The data in the accession were acquired by NODC in multiple individual data collections prior to 1998. These data were either originally formatted as seen here or were reformatted by NODC staff to a format described in UBT_Universal_Bathythermograph.txt. These similarly-formatted data have been bundled together into a single data collection (NCEI accession) for ease of discovery and use. NCEI no longer reformats data of this type into this format. Data acquired by NODC in this format after 1998 are not included in this accession and may only be discovered and accessed by searching the NCEI archives. Actions: Data were copied from /nodc/projects/md.muldars/UBT into the data/0-data/ directory of this accession. Related format documents were copied into the about/ directory of this accession. Files: about/ This directory contains files created by NCEI staff, email correspondence, and other 'negotiable' information between NCEI staff and the data provider. 9400121_lonlat.txt - Contains sample locations for these data. Each row contains the geographical position where these data were collected (longitude in the left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees). NCEI may have corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error when generating this file. However, NCEI did not change the original data files under the directory data/0-data/. 9400121_map.jpg - Sample location map for these data. MULDARS_README.txt - Information about the NODC MULtidisciplinary Data Archive and Retrieval System data management system. UBT_Codes.txt - Codes used in conjunction with the UBT data file format. UBT_Universal_Bathythermograph.html - Documentation of the NODC Universal Bathythermograph (BT) Data file format, in web (HTML) format. UBT_Universal_Bathythermograph.txt - Documentation of the NODC Universal Bathythermograph (BT) Data file format, in text (ASCII) format. data/0-data/ This directory contains the data files as compiled by NODC.
