---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Date: Tue, Mar 3, 2020 at 4:14 AM Subject: RE: ADCP data units To: Hernan Garcia - NOAA Federal Cc: , Dear Mr. Garcia, Thank you for your inquiry. We confirmed that the units of the ADCP data are m/s (not cm/s ) and the coordinates are for the U and V components of the velocity. Data description is follows; File Name: "KY1801.ZZZm.dat". ZZZ indicates measurement depth. Character Code: ANSI UNIX Data Sequence: Data No., year, month, day, hour, minute, second, latitude (degree North), longitude (degree East), east-west velocity component (m/s, positive value in eastward), north-south velocity component (m/s, positive value in northward). Time was recorded as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Everything looks fine, but ADCP coordinates and time are not accounted for. I added ADCP coordinates to lonlat file that extended the region into the North Pacific Ocean. The map file has been updated and new lonlat/time bounds entered. ADCP don't have column names. The two last columns are velocity components. We must know if it is U and V , or V and U. Also units are needed (presumably cm/s). Please communicate the data provider for ADCP file format. Read.me file needs to be added to data/0-data to explain ADCP file format. All e-mail communications relevant to this dataset need to be stored in about/0-email.txt file. I've already added the mentioning of this file in about/journal.txt Don also wonders if CSV files were part of the original submission or created from xls files. In the second case, they should be moved to data/1-data and journal.txt be updated. Otherwise, this dataset looks almost ready for DO approval. Please let me know if any questions, --Alexandra
