If you do not mind, I believe the best step forward would be rejecting the data package, letting you make the date changes and uploading the completed ReadMe file, and resubmitting the package. NCEI can make the necessary changes for you if needed, but having you re-submit it will make the process a little cleaner. I suggest you copy the information from the package you submitted before I do the rejection to prevent it from being lost. Once I receive a reply from you that you are ready, I will do the rejection. Everything should move smoothly after that. Thank you for your help, and please do not hesitate to ask me any questions. Here are the updates we were planning to make: · Update the dates as you recommend o Update the End Date to 2013 instead of 2011-01-31 (marsh sampling in "spring 2013") o Make this date change in the abstract as well · Add text to the ReadMe (it was mistakenly left blank), please see below · We do not have vessel or platform names to add ReadMe text: File created by Abt Associates, August 31, 2017. The Gulf of Mexico restoration database was compiled by Abt Associates. The datasets were pulled from the scientific literature, and the associated references are provided in the “tbl_References”. Taxonomic information for nekton and benthic infauna species is provided in “tbl_MasterSpeciesList.” This research was funded by contracts from the State of Louisiana and the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration to Abt Associates (and its predecessor company, Stratus Consulting) for work associated with the Deepwater Horizon oil spill natural resource damage assessment. If you are OK making these changes that works for us! If not, I can re-upload a revised version of the database with these changes incorporated. Let me know if you’ve got any more questions! I’m having someone help me with the update. I believe she has it all ready so I’m asking her to provide that. Maybe what makes most sense is for me to send it to you and you can let me know how you’d like to move forward? I believe she has prepared the updated text that was missing. The short answer to you question about making edits is no. Once you submit the package, you cannot make edits to it unless I reject the package (since it has not been assigned an accession number yet). In that case, it would be rejected, sent back to you, and you would be able to copy/paste everything into a new submission. In that new submission, you could update the dates and add the updated data files. I need more detail on what you are trying to add to your data set because it may make more sense for me to make the minor date changes, and you could just email me the new data to be added as a separate file. In that case I would need an email from you giving me permission to make the changes. The email will be archived along with the data package. Please feel free to let me know if this does not make sense. It looks like we are not able to edit a data set that is already uploaded, but we can upload a new dataset. Is that correct? Should we make edits and re-upload the data? Or is there a way to make changes directly to the files we have uploaded? Thanks! Update the End Date to 2013 instead of 2011-01-31 (marsh sampling in "spring 2013") 2. Make this date change in the abstract as well If you have any vessel names or platform names available that you would like to add, I can add those to the accession. I wanted to double check with you that the "Readme" form in the database is supposed to be blank also. Thank you for your consideration. Please let me know if you have any questions or see any issues with these suggestions. Thanks, Madalyn
