There is some information missing in the provided PDF. At your convenience, could you please provide: 1. instrument types used in data collection; ie. each parameter, or column in spreadsheet needs a defined instrument or process (lab techniques or calculations) 2. Data processing/reduction/analysis techniques of each parameter 3. From the Excel file, could you please provide scientific units for each of these columns a. Enterococcus b. Clostridium perfringnes c. (Assuming Umol/L for NO2+NO3, PO4, 4SiO4, NH4, TDP, TDN, DOC); if not please let me know d. all the " "_avg_MST and " "_1+log10 columns (and can I assume these are calculations, not measurements?) For the second, you are welcome to pass along at your convenience. I will keep you posted of progress on the first one. We will go ahead and keep these as separate submissions. Could you please enter this set in for us? Once we have collected everything for our second project, we can submit. Can you send us an email confirmation once its uploaded? Did you need anything else for this submission? Thanks again! Maybe you could clarify for us whether or not we would be submitting a single set or a series? We have another set of data for project titled "Sewage Pollution Tracking on Puako's and Nearby Resorts Coral Reefs" (Award #NA15NOA4820037). This set of data is not a continuation of the set you have reviewed, however it does compliment it with additional benthic sites. How would you recommend us submitting these data sets? All is in order and is in the scope of the NCEI archive. Do you plan to have a series of submissions? Or is this a one-off (single set, none to follow)? If the latter, I would be glad to perform the submission into the NCEI system with those two files. If you plan more submissions, it would be best for you to become familiar with our Send2NCEI system (https://www.nodc.noaa.gov/s2n/) and go ahead and set up an account, then submit this set. I work at the University part time and shortly after this email we left for vacation. =) Thanks for the information. I have attached our final report that describes our data collection and I have also included our master data sheet. Please let me know what our next steps are in getting the data setup into the archive. First, it is good to know if your data set is appropriate for the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI*) archive, or if another repository would be better suited. So as a starter, could you please send me any readily-available documents that describe your data collection (where, what variables, how collected, how processed). Off hand, I am guessing it is suited for NCEI, but good to double check. Once it is confirmed that NOAA NCEI will archive your type of data set, I will get back to you about aspects related to getting the data into the archive. Otherwise, I will point you to an appropriate repository. Aloha, Pat *Note, the NOAA climate, ocean, and geophysical centers (NCDC, NODC, NGDC) were merged in 2015 into NCEI. You may recall I was historically with NODC. Please use NCEI as the reference to the NOAA archive for all future collaborations.
