Source: Dr. Veronica Lance, NOAA/NESDIS/STAR, submitted metadata to NCEI in 
submission package XD180J via S2N. The data were uploaded as a zip file to the 
NCEI incoming ftp site at ftp.nodc.noaa.gov. 

Actions: An automated procedure copied the files submitted via S2N from the submission
package into this accession. A metadata record in ISO 19115-2 XML format was also
generated from the information provided by the submitter and was copied into
this accession. The data uploaded to the NCEI ftp were coped into this accession and 
uncompressed under the directory data/0-data and the zip file was then removed from 
the accession. NCEI personnel converted MS Office .docx and .pptx documents to PDF/A files.
NCEI personnel also converted MS Office .xlsx spreadsheets to .csv files. For spreadsheets
containing color coding or other formatting that will be lost in a CSV transform, PDF/a 
version of the worksheets has been created. All the whitespaces in the directories and 
filenames were removed by NCEI staff.
