The PROT field looks like it should be all 0s and 1s but there are also a few 2s. Could you explain this? This is from the SEFCRI area and is only on the Patch Reef Shallow Strata. This was initially set up by the SEFCRI folks who wanted to notate the shallow patch reefs differently for some reason. the 2 here acts as a 1 and considered a "high relief" area. Its a little weird. In the end the rugosity values in the SEFCRI region are just part of the Strata. Hope that makes sense. 2. The verify_4_psu documents have a couple odd column headings that don't seem to be in any data dictionary. For example, "sppbeffive," and "av_vrel_h" should be explained. In fact, none of the raw data sets have corresponding data dictionaries. verify_4_psu is just a processing step file that is done before the creation of the AR data set. I will include another dictionary for the fields not in any other dictionary. Also, included (attached to this email) is the raw data dictionaries. 3. The data dictionaries for the benthic accession (0169401) don't line up exactly. The column headings really should match what is in the data dictionary exactly. The benthics folks went though all their data and made all the appropriate changes. This included some changes in the dictionaries and in the AR datasets. I will send you a link to all the benthic data sets. Can you please replace all the benthic datasets with the new ones. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9-0_4EM43VPSDk2YUthV040cUk 4. Should NCCOS be added to the "credit" section? In the abstract of every submission, NCCOS is listed as the lead agency along with SEFSC. 5. All of the protocols documents seem to be out of date. InPort seems to suggest that there are 2016 versions of these documents. If there are newer versions, can you show me where to find them? Also, it looks like there is one protocols document that is listed in Inport but not in any accession package. It looks like it is the LPI Protocols for Flower Garden Banks and the Caribbean. Here is the link to the three protocol documents (fish, benthic assessment and coral demographic). https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6Lu6kaGZl0MRUU4Y3d1YktfNWc 6. There is a document included in 0169401 that says it is a companion to another NCRMP methods document. We should probably include the document that it is the companion to. Lets just replace all the protocols in this accession with protocols from the link in #4. 7. Lastly, CCFHR is referenced in Inport as an NCCOS office. I've been told that it doesn't exist. This was just a simple error, chose the wrong item from drop down list. All the references will be changed accordingly and I will send you new xml and ISO As a final note, we included all the raw and processing files in the archive to ensure we do not lose this data because of personal computer or local server catastrophe. And we only intended to make these files public after we talk to the persons wanting the data, again, the ensure that data is used properly. The raw and verify data sets are used to create the AR datasets. And it is the AR datasets that we intended to make public and easily accessible. Hope all this make sense. Cheers Jeremiah
