WOCE Surface Flux Data

A compilation of surface turbulent fluxes from the World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE).  The set includes flux fields produced by the SAC and fields created by other research institutes (e.g. Southampton Oceanography Centre and U.S. Navy). New flux products can be obtained online at http://www.coaps.fsu.edu/woce/SAC.

The surface fluxes SAC was established in 1994 at the Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies at the Florida State University (http://coaps.fsu.edu). The SAC produces surface flux fields and distributes fields provided by other research centers.  Funding for the production of this collection was provided by the U.S. National Science Foundation.

The data on this disk are available in netCDF and/or ASCII formats. NetCDF files do not conform to the WOCE standard; however, format documentation is included with each flux data set. Both data and maps are available for most products. An inventory of the surface flux data on this disk is included.
