This CDROM contains World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) Sea Surface
Salinity data. These data have been mainly collected on ships of opportunity
(VOS). IRD has conducted this VOS network. Some other data have been retriewed
from the NODC atlas (1998 onward)
The CDROM has been designed by the IRD (http://www.ird.fr) in collaboration with
IFREMER (http://www.ifremer.fr) in Brest (France). The
WOCE SSS DAC is located
at the Brest IRD (former ORSTOM) Centre (http://www.ifremer.fr/orstom/sss/sss_dac/sss_dac.html).
The SSS DAC is in charge of assembling the Sea Surface Salinity observations
collected since 1990 during the WOCE programme period.
