OCEAN CLIMATE LABORATORY DATA REQUEST SHEET -------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Place a 'X' directly in front of each parameter which must be measured in a profile for the profile to be considered Temperature Salinity Oxygen Phosphate Total Phosphorus Silicate Nitrite Nitrate pH Ammonia Chlorophyll Phaeophytin PrimaryProd Biochem LightC14 DarkC14 Alkalinity POC DOC pCO2 tCO2 XCO2sea NO2NO3 Transmissiv Pressure Conductivit CO2warm xCO2atm AirPress Latitude Longitude JulianDay Tritium Helium DeltaHe3 DeltaC14 DeltaC13 Argon Neon CFC11 CFC12 CFC113 Oxy18 -------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. If you want only a specific geographic area, place an 'X' in front of the appropriate geographic division method. For either choice, enter four numbers after the arrow, 1. starting longitude, 2. ending longitude, 3. starting latitude, 4. ending latitude. (For WMO squares use ten degree grid numbers, for user input use actual latitudes and longitudes. Separate these numbers by spaces. Negative longitude is west, negative latitude is south. WMO squares ->1312 1514 User Input Area ->D6 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. If you want only data for a specific time period, place a one (1) or a two (2) in front of any or all of the Year,Month, and/or Day labels. (Day can not be marked without one or both of the others marked.) A one means to look at only specified dates in each year. For example if month is marked with a one and the months listed are one and three, months one, two, and three will be retrieved for all marked years. If month is marked with a two and one and three are again marked, the retrieval will start in month one of the first year marked, and end in month three of the second year marked. If only Month is marked, designated months will be looked for in all years. Enter the appropriate starting and ending year, month, day after the arrows. Place a space between each pair of numbers. A zero for a starting year but not the ending year means all data from the start of the archive until the user input ending date. The same principle goes for an ending zero for year. Enter all four digits for the year (if not zero). Enter the month 1 to 12 (one being January). Year ->-1 -1 Month ->3 4 Day ->6 20 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. If you want data pertaining only to certain accession numbers, countries, cruises, platforms, primary investigators, institutions, projects, mark each needed category with an 'X'. After the arrow put the number of different choices in the category you would like. On the lines after the arrow, enter the number codes of your choices (see Appendix in instructions for codes). Make sure the number of lines under the arrow is exactly equal to the number entered after the arrow. Character data is acceptable only for country and the first two bytes in each cruise code. Accession Numbers ->1 Countries ->1 Cruises ->1 Platforms ->1 Institutions ->1 Projects ->1 Primary Investigators -> Second Header Parameters (Major code X 100000 + individual code) ->1 Biological Parameters (Major code X100000 + individual code) ->1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5. Taxonomic and integrated parameter data: (1) First line - number of taxon subsets (2) Second line - number of delimitors of subset #1 -space- (2) if BGC# (1) if taxon# dependent, (0) if code number dependent (3) Lines 3 to 3 + number read in on second line - delimitor of subset Repeat steps (2) and (3) dependent on number on first line Taxon dependent is a list of codes pertaining to one taxon# Code number is a list of taxons pertaining to one code number The first line from (3) must contain this taxon or code on which the remaining delimitors in the set depend 0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Extra mask Line 1 -> Enter a one (1) if an inclusive extra mask is desired Enter a two (2) if an exclusion extra mask is desired Line 2 -> parameter number Place '-' in front of # if mask is a unique station sorted mask [enter -1000 if value=0] Line 3 -> File Name (no quotes) Line 4 -> Set the three mask qualifiers. The qualifiers are values for second through fourth integers (for 2 through 4 integer structure masks [.d,.3,.4]) which are desired. Set these to -1 if all values are desired. A parameter number of zero (0) means a nonparameter specific mask ->0 -1000 duplicate.s -1 -1 -1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. Deepest Depth Line 1 - Enter an x directly after arrow to activate Line 2 - Enter minimum and maximum depth. Any stations with their deepest measurement (excluding biology) between (or equal to) the given depths will be included. Only integer values (whole meters) will be accepted D->0 S 30 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8. Data Additions Line 1 - Enter a 1 or 2directly after arrow to activate 1=enter uniq casts directly 2=enter code from list /OCL/sys.inf/data_additions.txt LIne 2 - Enter beginning and ending unique casts or beginning and ending code N->0 6 8 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- A
