Source: NOAA WaveWatch III® Operational Wave Models output from the Marine
Modeling and Analysis Branch (MMAB) of the NOAA/National Centers for
Environmental Prediction (NCEP).

Actions:

NCEI developed an automated process to ingest WAVEWATCH III® files into
the NCEI Archive Management System (AMS) [i.e., download (acquire), organize
files, create FGDC metadata].  Some data files were transmitted as tar
or gzip files; the original files from those compressed files have been
extracted and the compressed files have been discarded, as they were an
artifact of the transmission procedure.

These model outputs are available to the public for the long term via the
NCEI Ocean Archive System (https://www.nodc.noaa.gov/Archive/Search/).
Additional documentation for WAVEWATCH III® model outputs may be obtained
from the NOAA/National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) website
at http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/waves/wavewatch/.
