Cross-references are provided to add context and further understanding of the AIP. Unfortunately, NCEI can not include copyrighted materials as part of an AIP unless we have written permission from the copyright holder. Can you provide a copy of Table 1 that can be included the AIP? If not I will go ahead and publish the AIP with just the cross-reference to the journal that contains the table. In the abstract, I have added a description of date and location of aircraft flights. --------------------------------------------------------------- This dataset contains size-resolved mass concentrations of iron oxide aerosols and size-resolved number concentrations of iron oxide aerosols, measured using the modified single-particle soot photometer [Yoshida et al. 2016]. Data were collected from King Air aircraft from ~0.2 km to ~8 km altitude levels over Yellow Sea, East China Sea during the A-FORCE 2013 Winter campaign conducted from 2013-02-14 to 2013-03-10. Please see Table 1 of Kondo et al. 2016 for dates and locations of King Air aircraft flights during the A-FORCE 2013 Winter campaign. Data are in 2 ASCII text files. The time period specified in the S2N submission is 2013-02-14 to 2013-03-10. Is there a relation between time and specific measurements or are the measurements related to the whole time period? Would you please attach a text file with the verbiage below named Figure_4_caption.txt to your response? While this information is in the communication emails that will be part of the AIP, they are in a directory of files created by NCEI. Supplying this file will allow it to be included in the directory with all the other files you have submitted and will make it easier for a user to relate it to " Fig4 of Moteki et al 2017.jpg". Figure 4. Size-resolved number and mass concentrations of iron oxide particles. Results in dry PBL air and at different altitudes are shown in panels (a) and (b–f), respectively. Filled circle and error bar represent the sample mean and the sample standard deviation (±1σ) of the 1-min data, respectively. The number of 1-min data points (n) is shown in each panel. In our aircraft observation, FeOx particle concentrations of every size are simultaneously measured (within 1 minute time resolution). Therefore, it is not necessary to provide (Lon, Lat) for every size. Can you provide that figure to be included in this Archival Information Package (AIP). Can you provide a citation for this article, I can not find one. We would provide it as a cross-reference for this AIP. It would be best if the abstract provides a little more detail. Please provide a more detailed abstract or modify/edit the abstract below. In the new files you give the domain for the longitudes and the latitudes but not coordinates for the individual measurements. It is possible that they are not available but something like below is what would permit the user to know where exactly the data were collected. size mean std num_data longitude latitude 199.526 58.4201 59.9257 274 124.4 28.0 229.087 88.947 93.043 274 124.5 28.1 I created a new map taking the longitude domains, dividing them by 10 and creating lon-lat pairs. I made a major assumptions which could be incorrect so I am hesitant to use this map. The major assumption is that the smallest latitude is paired with the smallest longitude. Providing a map is designed to give users a quick view of where the data is collected. If more specific longitudes and latitudes are not available, I will use the original map I provided you based on bounding box. We would prefer to provide a more general map that represents the data rather than a map this is misleading or incorrect. There was bounding box submitted as part of the S2N package which covers a considerable area (map attached). Providing additional information about where exactly within the bounding box the data were collected would increase the usability of these data. The following information is from the Data types section of the S2N submission showing the units for the two files is different: size-resolved mass concentrations of iron oxide aerosols (Measured) Units: dM/dlogD [ng/m3 @ standard temperature and pressure] size-resolved number concentrations of iron oxide aerosols (Measured) Units: dN/dlogD [#/cm3 @ standard temperature and pressure] The above specify that the units for the two files are different but the column headers are the same, to ensure that the data can be understood please provide additional header information for the two files.
