Source: These data were harvested from the Carbon Dioxide Information
Analysis Center (CDIAC) Ocean CO2 web service at
http://cdiac.ornl.gov/ftp/oceans/LDEO_Database/Version_2013, and
accompanying metadata were downloaded from
http://mercury.ornl.gov/metadata/ocean/xml/, in accordance with the archival
submission agreement between NCEI and CDIAC.

Actions:

The original data and metadata files were transferred to NCEI by an
automated process. Another automated process then transferred the original
data files to the data/0-data/ directory of this accession. The automated
process also extracted the longitude and latitude data from those data
files and plotted a sample location map.

The original compressed or tar files used to transfer these data from the
data provider were discarded after the extraction and validation processes
were successfully completed.

Spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel format were converted to comma-separated-value
(CSV) text files.

Files:

about/
This directory contains files generated by NCEI with ancillary information
about the data submission.

0160492_lonlat.txt -
  Contains station locations for these data.  Each row contains the
  geographical position where these data were collected (longitude in the
  left column and latitude in the right column, both in decimal degrees).
  NCEI may have corrected or omitted geographic positions that seemed to be
  in error when generating this file.  However, NCEI did not change the
  original data files under the directory data/0-data/.

data/0-data/
This directory contains the original files that were downloaded from CDIAC.

data/1-data/
This directory contains files that were converted by NCEI from their
originally submitted format under the data/0-data/ directory to an archival
format.

*.csv -
  Comma-separated-value (CSV) text files that NCEI converted from the
  Microsoft Excel spreadsheet files in data/0-data/. One or more CSV files
  may have been created from each Excel spreadsheet file.
