  Contains sample locations for these data.  Each row contains the
  geographical position where these data were collected (longitude in the
  left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees).

0125951_FGDC-STD001-1988.xml -
  Metadata record for the archived data, in Federal Geographic Data
  Committee (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata
  (FGDC-STD-001-1998) XML format.

This directory contains the data and information files as NDBC submitted them
to NODC. The file naming conventions for these files are as follows: 

TAO_<SITE CODE>_<DEPLOYMENT NAME>-<YYYYMMDD>_<MODE>_<PARAMETER>_<SAMPLING INTERVAL>.nc

where TAO = Tropical Atmosphere Ocean; <SITE CODE> = site nominal latitude and 
longitude with the prefix, T;  <DEPLOYMENT NAME> = alphanumeric string used
to identify deployment; <YYYYMMDD> = numeric year, month, day data collection started; 
<MODE> =  R (real-time (only POS (position) are real-time)) and D (delayed) ; 
<PARAMETER> = AIRT (air temperature), BARO (barometic), CURR (currents), MET 
(meteorological), POS (position), PRES (pressure), RAD (radiation), RAIN (rain), 
RH (relative humidity), SALT (salinity), SST (sea surface temperature), TEMP 
(temperature), WIND (wind); <SAMPLING INTERVAL> = sampling interval in minutes,
and .nc = netCDF file extension.

Note: The longitudes and latitudes in the POS (position) files are not quality 
controlled and may include erroneous values.
