WinADCP binary files with .000 extension were converted to ASCII text 
using the WinADCP Export tool.  The Series/Ancillary tab was selected to 
export all the data, TXT file type was selected, and the ensemble 
selection was set 1 to the final ensemble, with a step of 1.  All data 
bins were selected.  Every Series Data and Ancillary Data type was checked 
to ensure that all data were exported to the file.

The data were stored in column format with a 12-line file header. The 
header describes the type of export ("Series Data"), the file location, 
the ADCP type, the number of pings per ensemble, the length of time per 
ping, the date and time of the first ensemble, the ensemble interval, the 
range of the first bin, and the bin size.

After the file header, there are 3 lines of column headers. The first line 
is the abbreviated name of the data in each column, and the second line 
contains the units. The third line indicates the bin number.
