At the start of the cruise, the primary gyro data was the ship's Sperry Gyro #1
and the second heading source for corrections was the Phins Fiber Optic Gyro (FOG)

The primary gyro data is fed by the 'science gyro', a switch on the bridge that can 
select between three different sources: Sperry Gyros #1 and #2 and the FOG.  Despite a 
note asking not to touch the science heading feed without asking the SSSG, the feed
was switched from Gyro#1 to FOG sometime during the course of the cruise.  The timing of 
the switch is unknown as of yet.
