Upon completion of the science activities the vessel shall return to Astoria, Oregon, on or about 23 July 2008. The research objectives are to obtain physiological measurements, deploy in situ cameras and sensors, sample the hydrothermal vent plume of Grotto in the Main Endeavour Vent Field, and to recover and redeploy two acoustic scintillation moorings. The planned activities include 17 Alvin dives. The operations area will be the Main Endeavour vent field at 47° 56.88 N, 129° 5.94W, and an area encompassed by 48°30N 129°20 W; 47°30N 128°36W at a depth of 2200 meters. Scientific marine research within the exclusive economic zone of Canada is pending.
