Source: The data in this archival information package (NODC accession)
is the content of NODC standard CD-ROM and DVD-ROM product World Ocean
Atlas 2001, NODC-156, 157, 158, DVD-01, 02, and 03. All data on these discs
were extracted from other data collections archived at the National
Oceanographic Data Center at the time the disc was created.

Actions: An ISO disc image of the original disc was created using standard
disc duplication software and copied to data/0-data/disc_image/ directory. The
content of the original disc was extracted 'as is' to data/0-
data/disc_contents/ directory. A PDF/A version of related documentation,
publications, and/or information flyers were created and copied to
data/0-data/publications/ directory.

Files:

This directory contains files created by NODC staff that describe the
contents of the discs.

data/0-data/
This directory contains the data files from the original NODC-156, 157, 158,
DVD-01, 02, and 03 discs.

data/0-data/disc_image/
This directory contains ISO disc image files that can be used by
several CD-ROM / DVD-ROM authoring software applications to create an
exact duplicate of the original discs.

data/0-data/disc_contents/
This directory contains all of the individual directories and files, in
their original order, to provide direct access to the original data on
the original disc.

data/0-data/publications/
This directory contains publications produced by US NODC that are
related to the content of the original disc.
