Source: The NOAA/NODC National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC)
        assembled these data collected during the Lophelia II 2009: 
	Deepwater Program: Exploration and Research of Northern Gulf of 
	Mexico Deepwater Natural and Artificial Hard Bottom Habitats 
	with Emphasis on Coral Communities: Reefs, Rigs and Wrecks 
	expedition, which the NOAA Office of Ocean Exploration and 
	Research sponsored and submitted them via FTP to the NOAA/NODC 
	Marine Data Stewardship Division (MDSD) for archiving.

Files:

about/
This directory contains files generated by NODC with ancillary information
about the data submission.

*NOTE: The Lophelia II 2009 dataset includes 839 empty files. These files will
be left in the orginal folders, as they were delivered from the NOAA Ship
Ronald H. Brown. To see a comprehensive listing of the files, including the
directory structure location. See empty_files.txt below.

0081782_lonlat.txt - Contains sample locations for these data.  Each row 
                     contains the geographical position where these data were 
                     collected (longitude in the left column and latitude in 
                     the right column, both in degrees).  NODC may have 
                     corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error 
                     when generating this file.  However, NODC did not change 
                     the original data files under the directory data/0-data/.

empty_files.txt - Empty files in this accession. See NOTE above.

about/metadata/
This directory contains ISO standard metadata records created by NCDDC in XML
format.

data/0-data/
This directory contains the data and informationn files as submitted to MDSD.

data/0-data/vessel/
This directory contains all the data and information files that were collected
on the NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown, and includes Ship Navigation Data (Gyro and 
GPS) and Ship Sensor Data (CTD, Wind, Barometer, Fluorometer, Rain, Winch,
Speed).

data/0-data/submersible/
This directory contains all the data and information files that were collected
aboard the Jason Submersible, and includes Submersible ADCP and CTD Data.

data/1-data/
This directory contains the data and information files that NODC converted
from their originally submitted format to an archival format that NODC can
better preserve.

*.pdf - Portable Document Format (PDF) files that NODC converted from the
        Microsoft Word files in /0-data. There is one PDF file for each Word
        file.

*.pdf - Portable Document Format (PDF) files that NODC converted from the
	Microsoft Excel files in /0-data. There is one PDF file for each Excel
	file.

*.csv - Comma-separated-value (CSV) files that NODC converted from the
	Microsoft Excel files in /0-data. There is one CSV file for each
	spreadsheet.
