  Contains sample locations for these data.  Each row contains the
  geographical position where these data were collected (longitude in the
  left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees).

  Sample location map for these data.

0099239_FGDC-STD-001-1998.xml -
  Metadata record for the archived data, in Federal Geographic Data
  Committee (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata
  (FGDC-STD-001-1998) XML format.

dirinfo.txt -
  A text file, which contains the year/month of data collection, to
  facilitate NODC's online dissemination of this data set.

This directory contains the data and information files as NDBC submitted them
to NODC. The file naming conventions for these files are as follows: 

Data from TAO moored buoys:
OS_<SITE CODE>_<DEPLOYMENT NAME>_<MODE>_<PARAMETER>_<YYYYMM>_V<VERSION NUMBER>.nc

where OS = OceanSITES; <SITE CODE> = alpha-numeric string used to 
identify TAO moored buoys; <DEPLOYMENT NAME> = NDBC defined 
alpha-numeric deployment name unique with a site code;
<MODE> = R  = real-time, D = delayed; <PARAMETER> = OceanSITES 
defined alpha string to identify file parameter; <YYYYMM> = numeric year 
and month that NDBC collected the data; V<VERSION NUMBER> = number of
times that NDBC has corrected the data or updated the information in
this file , starting with 0; .nc = netCDF (version 4 - classic) file
extension.
