Source: The data in this archival information package (NODC accession)
is the content of NODC standard CD-ROM / DVD-ROM product
Temperature-Salinity Profiles (1900-1988), NODC-01. All data on this
disc were extracted from other data collections archived at the National
Oceanographic Data Center at the time the disc was created by NODC
staff.

Actions: An ISO disc image of the original disc was created using standard
disc duplication software and copied to data/0-data/disc_image/ directory. The
content of the original disc was copied 'as is' to data/0-data/disc_content/ 
directory. A PDF/A version of related documentation, publications,
and/or information flyers were created and copied to
data/0-data/publications/ directory.

Software developed by NODC to access data on this disc is obsolete on modern
computer systems, is not included in the archival package, and is no
longer available from NODC.

This directory contains files created by NODC staff that describe the
contents of the disc.

data/0-data/
This directory contains the data files from the original NODC-01 disc.

data/0-data/disc_image/
This directory contains an ISO disc image file that can be used by
several CD-ROM / DVD-ROM authoring software applications to create an
exact duplicate of the original disc.

data/0-data/disc_content/
This directory contains all of the individual directories and files, in
their original order, to provide direct access to the original data on
the original disc.

data/0-data/publications/
This directory contains publications produced by US NODC that are
related to the content of the original disc.
