Directory information Jul 18, 2003 Diskinfo.txt This file. CRUISE_ID A text file containing the ship, voyage and cruise designator for the data contained on this disk. (i.e. at7-15 => Cruise 15 of the 7th Atlantis voyage) /docs A directory containing documentation pertaining to the file formats in use on this disk. /scripts Utilities useful for manipulating the various data files. /dive#/athena General data files constructed by Alvin's Athena data logger. /dive#/CTD Alvin CTD data. /dive#/CTFM Alvin CTFM sonar data. /dive#/DataCollectors Data files generated by special purpose data collectors. Frequently these files result from the use of a unique science tool or instrument (i.e. heat flow probe), which is not deployed continuously. The name of the file indicates the type of data that it contains. /dive#/DVLNav Alvin in-hull navigation files. /dive#/ACNAV Alvin surface navigation files. /dive#/HeatFlow Heat flow measurement data. /dive#/IDAQ/cruise# Alvin Framegrabber images and data are here in 'web browsable' form. /dive#/Imagenex Imagenex sonar data. /dive#/Magnetometer Alvin magnetometer data. /dive#/Science Data files located in the "Science" directory of the Alsci0 computer. These normally contain data collected by applications provided by the science party. /Pictures Directory containing image files from hand held cameras. An Alvin dive data disk will contain as many dives as will fit completely. In the event that a disk will not hold all the data associated with a single dive, continuation disks will be used. Copies of Diskinfo.txt, CRUISE_ID, /docs and /scripts are contained on all dive disks, including "continuation" disks if needed for a single dive. If a particular directory is missing, it indicates that no data of that type was collected during the dive. Additional directories may be added for storing data from special instrumentation.
