What is MULDARS? MULDARS stands for 'MULtidisciplinary Data Archive and Retrieval System', a data management system developed and used by NODC until about 1994. Originator data were formatted to standard data structures according to the type of data. Each data type/data format was given an identifier, or "file alias." Individual data records within the data type were assigned a reference number by NODC. File name conventions: File names in the data/0-data/ directory are the NODC-assigned reference numbers. Each data file contains ASCII text, structured as described in the format file.
