Source: The data in this accession may have been acquired by NODC in multiple
individual data collections prior to about 1996. These data were either
originally formatted as seen here or were reformatted by NODC staff to
the format described in the file about/F015_format.txt. These
similarly-formatted data have been bundled together into a single data
collection (NODC accession) for ease of discovery and use. NODC no
longer reformats data of this type into this format, although NODC
occassionally acquires data in this format from data originators. Data
acquired by NODC in this format after 1996 are likely to not be included
in this accession. Additional information about this accession is
provided in about/muldars_readme.txt. 

Similar data may be discovered and accessed in the NODC archives by
searching the Ocean Archive System using data type keyword combinations,
title searches or other means. Please contact NODC User Services at
NODC.Services@noaa.gov for additional assistance.

This directory contains files created by NODC staff.

0066358_lonlat.txt - Contains sample locations for these data.  Each row
                     contains the geographical position where these data were
                     collected (longitude in the left column and latitude in
                     the right column, both in degrees).  NODC may have
                     corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error
                     when generating this file.  However, NODC did not change
                     the original data files under the directory data/0-data/.

F015_format.txt - Format description and codes used for NODC standard
                  format F015.

muldars_readme.txt - Brief description of NODC 'MULtidisciplinary Data Archive 
                     and Retrieval System' (MULDARS).

This directory contains data files processed by NODC during the 1970s to
1990s into NODC standard format F015. These files are a copy of files
found in individual NODC accessions or a processed representation of
data files found in individual NODC accessions.
