Cruise Objective:

Science Activities: Primary: Multiple box cores at each site to sieve
                    surface sediment, to collect live benthic foraminifera.
                    Also 1-2 CTD w rosette per site, to collect bottom water
                    Ancillary: One multicore at each site, to be processed
                    in the cold van for pore water nitrogen cycle studies

Operations Area:    Margin, south of Vineyard (same as OC -448)
                    38d40m N 69d30m W to 40d26m N 70d30m W
                    Depth range: 90 m to 3300 m
                    3+ days on station
                    4 stations, distance between varies, PI will send a

                           10% hydrochloric acid,
                           70% ethanol,
                           zinc chloride,
                           85% phosphoric acid,
                           all for preserving / processing samples by
                           ancillary science party.

                           Absorbent pads and neutralizing kits will be
                           brought to contain/clean up spills

                           All reagents, waste, and processed samples will
                           be returned to the lab at Brown University for
                           disposal.
