Actions: NODC copied these data from the DVD+R to the directory data/0-data/. The file name of the Microsoft Excel file contained special characters which could not be interpreted. NODC personnel translated the special characters to ascii text characters and re-saved the file. Each spreadsheet within the Microsoft Excel file was saved as a pdf in 1-data/. Files: about/ This directory contains files generated by NODC with ancillary information about the data submission. 0078523_lonlat.txt - Contains sample locations for these data. Each row contains the geographical position where these data were collected (longitude in the left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees). NODC may have corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error when generating this file. However, NODC did not change the original data files under the directory data/0-data/. 0078523_map.jpg - Sample location map for these data. KHOA_dataacquisition.pdf - Document submitted by the NODC liaison to Korea, requesting the data be archived. This document also contains a description of the files submitted to NODC. Information was obtained from the Gwan_cheokso(Gwan_Cheolc_ItangMokmit_Cod_Sulmyung).xls spreadsheet. data/0-data/ This directory contains the data files as submitted to NODC. Gwan_cheokso(Gwan_Cheolc_ItangMokmit_Cod_Sulmyung).xls - This file was submitted containing a file name composed of special characters. The characters were translated into ascii text characters. The literal translation of the file name in english is 'observation_station_name_and_metadata_information.xls'. The header information in the worksheet labeled Ieodo corresponds to an English version in the KHOA_dataacquisition.pdf file. In the directory DT/ there are header fields listed with "TIDE_LEVEL_XXX", where XXX is either OTT, WLS, or MIROS. OTT and MIROS are the manufacturers of the water level sensors, which are float operated and water-pressure based respectively. WLS is an abbreviation for Water Level Sensor which Aanderaa Data Instrument (AADI) manufactured and is micro-wave based. data/1-data/ This directory contains data files which NODC converted from the original format to a more preservable format. *.pdf - Portable Document Format (PDF) files that NODC converted from the Microsoft Excel spreadsheets in /0-data. There is one PDF file for each spreadsheet within the Microsoft Excel file.
