Dear Hernan I loaded the Chilean data via FTP without problems in the right place. I tried to create a folder for Chile, but the directory "pub / incoming" would not let me. Uploaded files correspond to: CF1STD.OFQ CF2STD.OFQ CF3STD.OFQ CF4STD.OFQ CF7STD.OFQ CF8STD.OFQ ParaOceanDataView.txt DataFormat.doc These data correspond to the oceanographic information (depth, temperature, salinity and density) obtained under the framework of projects CIMAR FIORDOS (hence its acronym) developed since 1995 to date. The objective of this program, is to study oceanographically the remote areas of our territory. The files *.OFQ found in our standard format, correspond to a modification of the format U.S. NODC-1964. The description of each field in this format, is attached in the document DataFormat.doc. Finally, as your presentation is in a few days, collect all the data, independent of the cruise (about 517 stations) and TXT format takes to be easily readable and plotted with the tool OceanDataView (ParaOceanDataView.txt file). Therefore, this last file considers all oceanographic stations sent. I hope this information will serve you for your presentation, any questions let me know. Finally, us at the Chilean NODC are in the process of updating and reorganization. One of our tasks is to define a new data format. In that respect I think it's essential to have advice from you. I hope we stay connected on this issue. Many greetings Atte. EaC GDO. Calvete Carolina Maldonado 10 Head CENDHOC Oceanography Department
