Action(s): 

The original data and metadata files were transferred to NODC by an
automated process.  Another automated process then transferred the original
data files to the data/0-data/ directory of this accession.  The automated
process also extracted the longitude and latitude data from those data
files, and plotted a sample location map. NODC personnel also converted all 
the .doc files under the directory of data/0-data/ to .pdf/A files, and saved
them in their corresponding folders under data/1-data/.

This directory contains files generated by NODC with ancillary information
about the data submission.

0081014_lonlat.txt -
  Contains sample locations for these data.  Each row contains the geographical
  position where these data were collected (longitude in the left column and
  latitude in the right column, both in decimal degrees) as extracted from the
  original data files under the directory data/0-data/.

0081014_map.jpg -
  Sample location map for these data.

This directory contains the original files that were downloaded from CDIAC.
