Subject: Temperature profiles from elephant seals Date: Fri, 12 Aug 2011 20:46:56 -0700 From: Patrick Robinson To: NODC.DataOfficer@noaa.gov Hello, I am part of the TOPP program and have collecting diving/tracking data for the past 7 years on Northern Elephant seals. We have collected more than 2.5 million temperature casts throughout the northeast pacific (typical depths are between 400 and 600 m) and I am currently organizing these for our own analyses, but it would be helpful to know how best to format this large dataset to make it easiest for your team. The information on your website seems to apply to smaller datasets. I currently have the data stored in MatLab '.mat' files for each seal and each cast is part of a structure with the time, location, raw cast data, and interpolated cast data (interpolation provides one estimate per meter in the usual CTD format). Thank you for you assistance. -Patrick _____________________________ Patrick W.
