***************************************************************** Journal for accession number: 0070922 Created on: 2011-02-23 15:56:29 UTC By: Mei-Lin Chen, National Oceanographic Data Center Source: Jeff Cox of Evans-Hamilton, Inc. submitted these deepwater currents data from CTD and ADCP moorings in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico via mail on a CD-ROM. Actions: NODC copied the folder "Survey of Deepwater Currents in Eastern GOM (Proj. #0469) Data/" and uncompressed the five zipped files under the directory data/0-data/ and then removed the zipped files from the accession. NODC personnel also converted MS Office .xls spreadsheets to .csv files. Files: about/ This directory contains files generated by NODC with ancillary information about the data submission. 0070922_lonlat.txt - Contains sample locations for these data. Each row contains the geographical position where these data were collected (longitude in the left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees). NODC may have corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error when generating this file. However, NODC did not change the original data files under the directory data/0-data/. 0070922_map.jpg - Sample location map for these data. 0-letter.pdf - A NODC scanned copy of the letter sent with the data package notifying NODC that a CD containing all collected data for NODC to archive. NODC_Agreement.png - The agreement between Evans-Hamilton, Inc. and NODC for archiving this data set. data/0-data/ This directory contains the data files as submitted to NODC. This includes 5 folders for different types of instruments: ./ADCP_Current_Data/ ./CTD_and_XBT_Cast_Data/ ./Single_Point_CTD_Data-S&D/ ./Single_Point_CTD_Data/ ./Single_Point_Current_Data/ data/1-data/ This directory contains files that were converted by NODC from their originally submitted format under the 0-data/ directory to an archival format. *.csv - Comma-separated-value (CSV) files that NODC converted from the Microsoft Excel files in /0-data. There is one CSV file for each Excel file.
