Gulf of Mexico ESI DVD - produced May 2010 What is new with this release of the Gulf DVD? 1) New ESI data for Mississippi published in hard copy format in December, 2009. 2) Modifications to the Louisiana ESI data: a. Added the ESI line layer to the ArcMap .mxd (this was inadvertently left out of the first release) b. Created an ESIP layer to be more compatible with the other ESI atlases. This involved extracting all of the habitats typically mapped in the ESIP layer from the HABITAT layer. Included: ESI Value Habitat description 10A Salt-, Intermediate-, and Brackish-water marsh 10B Freshwater marsh 10C Forested wetland 10D Scrub-shrub wetland These types remain in the Habitat layer as well, where they link to the biotable and potentially additional information. 3) Added the Florida ESI Geodatabase and PDFs to the DVD. The ESI, ESIP, Hydro and Hydrol layers for Florida were replaced with updated shoreline data collected in 2003. 4) Added the Upper Coast of Texas ESI PDFs. 5) Updated Query by Attribute tool. This fixed a bug that caused the tool to crash if there was any element that did not have any entries with a scientific name listed. This is not uncommon in the Habitats layer, and that is where the crash most often occurred. (Remember to check the ORR ESI tool webpage regularly for updated tools and tools that have been enhanced or had bug fixes identified and corrected.
