James Herring Dynalysis DATA FILES Data file names: Gulf of Mexico Hydrography group file name | | | Two Digit Month Number ___|__ _| | | || gomhyd.m.05 | Suffix Indicating Merged Data File The data is in ASCII form. The profiles in each monthly file is sorted by time in assending order. Some attempt to remove or repair erronious data files, but for the most part they are as recieved. This is done so that the user can apply their own criteria. If profiles are eliminated because they do not conform to preconcieved conditions when, in fact, the profile records a genuine anomily. Therefore, the raw data should be used with care. The header contains the location at time of the profile along with some information about the source archive of the data. The profile itself consists of the depth, temperature and, if available, the salinity and density. All profiles are in the source archive vertical spacing.
