***************************************************************** Journal for accession number: 0062541 Created on: 2026-01-24 16:15:01 UTC By: NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information Source: An informational file was created by NCEI staff. Version: 1.2 Actions: Informational files were updated in the about/ directory of this accession. The informational file was programmatically added to the about/ directory of this accession. Files: about/ This directory contains files created by NCEI staff and processing, including 'negotiable' information between NCEI staff and the data provider. 0062541_lonlat.txt - Contains sample locations for these data. Each row contains the geographical position where these data were collected (longitude in the left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees). NCEI may have corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error when generating this file. However, NCEI did not change the original data files under the directory data/0-data/. 0062541_map.jpg - Sample location map for these data. data/0-data/ This directory contains the data files as submitted to NCEI. The following is a summary of the differences between the about/ files in the previous version of this accession and this version: Total number of files: 4 Number of new files: 2 Number of changed files: 0 Number of files removed: 0 Number of files moved or renamed: 0 New files: 0062541_lonlat.txt 0062541_map.jpg ***************************************************************** Journal for accession number: 0062541 Created on: 2010-03-05 12:26:44 UTC By: Melanie Hamilton, National Oceanographic Data Center Source: Temperature and salinity profile data from globally distributed Argo profiling floats for the week of 2010-02-25 to 2010-03-03 for the Global Argo Data Repository, date ranged from 2002-08-06 to 2010-03-03 were obtaine from the ARGO GTS server (available at as of 2010-03-04 by NODC staff for the Global Argo Data Repository (GADR). The U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC) operates the Global Argo Data Repository (GADR) as the long-term archive for the International Global Argo Project (for additional information about Argo, see http://www.argo.ucsd.edu/ (last accessed March 2010)). Argo data archived by the US NODC may include real-time and/or delayed-mode profiles of ocean temperature and salinity, as well as related conductivity and/or pressure measurements, collected by Argo profiling floats. NODC began archiving Argo daily data on a weekly basis starting the second quarter of FY 2003. These data include real-time and/or delayed-mode profiles of ocean temperature and salinity (conductivity and pressure, if any) measured by the Argo profiling floats. The file naming convention used for these data is as follows: yyyymmdd_prof.nc where yyyymmdd is the date the data were transmitted; prof indicates that these are profile data, and .nc indicates that the file is a netCDF file, and the _# is the sequence number assigned when the file exceeds the file size limits. Additional information about the Argo Project is available at [http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/argo/latest_data.html] (last accessed on Mar 04, 2010). Additional information about the netCDF file format is available at [http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/argo/document/datafmt/index.htm] (last accessed on Mar 04, 2010). 20100225_prof.nc, 20100226_prof.nc, 20100226_prof_0.nc, 20100226_prof_1.nc, 20100227_prof.nc, 20100227_prof_0.nc, 20100228_prof.nc, 20100228_prof_0.nc, 20100301_prof.nc, 20100301_prof_0.nc, 20100302_prof.nc, 20100302_prof_0.nc, 20100302_prof_1.nc, 20100303_prof.nc, 20100303_prof_0.nc, 20100303_prof_1.nc
