Procedure procured and given to Bosun. The SPMR is a hand-lowered instrument that is designed to minimize ship shadows. There will be a small hand reel for the cable that needs to be bolted to the deck. We want casts from daylight hours (preferably 0900 to 1600) and normally deploy from the stern with stern facing the sun. The deployment takes two people minimally; one running the aquisition computer and one handling the kevlar cable.
