Source: Temperature and salinity profile data from globally distributed Argo profiling floats for the month of August 2005 for the Global Argo Data Repository, data ranged from 1996-01-05 to 2005-08-10 were obtained from the ARGO GTS server (available at the following URL: https://test.nodc.noaa.gov/argo/latest_data.html as of 2005-08-01) by NODC staff for the Global Argo Data Repository (GADR). The U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC) operates the Global Argo Data Repository (GADR) as the long-term archive for the International Global Argo Project (for additional information about Argo, see http://www.argo.ucsd.edu/ (last accessed December 2003)). Argo data archived by the US NODC may include real-time and/or delayed-mode profiles of ocean temperature and salinity, as well as related conductivity and/or pressure measurements, collected by Argo profiling floats. NODC began archiving Argo data on a monthly basis starting the second quarter of FY 2003. These data include real-time and/or delayed-mode profiles of ocean temperature and salinity (conductivity andpressure, if any) measured by the Argo profiling floats. File format: netcdf formatted files.
