Upon completion of the science activities the vessel shall return to Seattle, Washington, on 9 June 2004. The scientific objective of this cruise is to recover sulfide microbial incubators, deploy two prototype instruments known as an 'Optical Flow Sensor and CAT-Two Osmotic Sampler' and to recover instruments on the Main Endeavor Field. The science activities planned include fourteen DSV ALVIN dives, CTDs, multibeam surveys and a Dive & Discover cruise web site. The operations area will be the Endeavor Segment of the Juan de Fuca Ridge in the vicinity of latitude 47 degrees 56 minutes North & longitude 129 degrees 6.0 West and the Nootka Fault in the vicinity of latitude 48 degrees 50 minutes to 49 degrees 30 minutes North & longitude 127-30 minutes to 128 degrees 00 minutes West.
