This accesses the "Advanced Search" page of the web site to generate a list of files to be downloaded, and then retrieves those files. These files have been parsed using an inventory generation program (in Perl). In the process of downloading and generating these inventories, a number of format errors have been found, which have been reported to the CCHDO. The retrieved files include the following: 356 Exchange Format Hydrographic data files, comprising 504 cruise segments, dating from 1981 to March 2007. 364 NetCDF Hydrographic data files (zip archives of groups of files). 425 Exchange Format CTD data files (as zip archives), comprising 604 cruise segments, dating from 1975 to March 2007. 344 NetCDF CTD data files (as zip archives). 422 of the Exchange Format CTD data files have been converted to MEDS-ASCII, using a data converter still undergoing testing. The converted files contain 22773 CTD stations. A number of ambiguities with regard to ship (platform) identification, and temperature and salinity units have been discovered in this process. We intend to make this data available as part of the GTSPP data system.
