Source: NODC obtained these data during an automated web crawl process on
        November 19, 2013 from the CLIVAR and Carbon Hydrographic Data Office
        (CCHDO) web server in accordance with the agreement between NODC and
        CCHDO staff.  With the cooperation of Jim Swift and Steve Diggs of
        CCHDO, NODC obtained the hydrographic and CTD data files that are
        publicly available from the CCHDO Web site, using a web-crawler
        program written in Perl.  This accesses the "Advanced Search" page
        of the web site to generate a list of files to be downloaded, and then
        retrieves those files.  NODC parsed these files using an inventory
        generation program written in Perl.  In the process of downloading and
        generating these inventories, NODC reports to CCHDO any format errors
        that the programs found.

Version 16.16 - This version of NODC Accession 0038589 was updated by semi-
                automated processes which are performed quarterly by NODC. The
                latest (and) best version of these data has the largest version
                number.

about/
This directory contains files generated by NODC with ancillary information
about the data submission.

0038589_lonlat.txt - Station locations for these data.  Each row
                     contains the geographical position where these data were
                     collected (longitude in the left column and latitude in
                     the right column, both in degrees).  NODC may have
                     corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error
                     when generating this file.  However, NODC did not change
                     the original data files under the directory data/0-data/.

cchdo_list.html - HTML page with URL's of available data files.

inv_bot.txt - Detailed cruise inventory of bottle data.

inv_ctd.txt - Detailed cruise inventory of CTD data.

limits_bot.txt - Date range and bounding lat/lon box for bottle data.

limits_ctd.txt - Date range and Bounding lat/lon box for CTD data.

lldt_bot.txt - List of latitude, longitude, date, time for each station 

lldt_ctd.txt - List of latitude, longitude, date, time for each station 

platforms.txt - List of platforms with NODC codes.

data/0-data/
This directory contains the following files as submitted to NODC (note: * is a
wildcard used to indicate multiple file names):

*.nc - Data files in netCDF format. Information about netCDF files and
       software to access them can be obtained from Unidata.

*.csv - comma-separated-value text files that have been converted from netCDF
        files by CCHDO.

*.txt - ASCII text files that contain ship, cast, latitude, longitude, depth,
        and other information.
